If you have already learned to identify mood auras and personality auras, you may have noticed other layers of color flickering in the background. These layers are not random—they are the seven structures that make up the complete energy body, each corresponding to a different dimension of life.
These seven layers of color, along with their subsidiary hues, hold the key to health and well-being. Through them, you can cleanse and energize the entire aura, as well as heal and strengthen individual aspects that may be causing imbalance in body, mind, and soul.
When the aura becomes blocked, hyperactive, or weakened, the effects can eventually lead to physical illness or exacerbate existing health conditions. Stress, for example, often appears in the aura as irregularities or tangles, and over time may create disease.

How to Identify the Seven Aura Layers
The seven layers appear as a rainbow-colored halo surrounding the body in an elliptical shape, but they are most clearly visible around the head and shoulders.
Ask your psychic vision to show you the seven layers, just as you did with mood and personality auras in previous exercises. Relax and gaze with half-closed eyes—if necessary, slowly close and open your eyes two or three times. You can observe yourself in a mirror, or observe the head and shoulders of the person you wish to help.
The Seven Aura Layers Explained
1. The Etheric Layer: The Innermost Aura Layer
Corresponding Chakra: Root Chakra (Red)
Energy Characteristics: This layer reflects your basic instincts and overall physical health. It encompasses the fight-or-flight mechanism, physical stamina that energizes the body, uncontrolled anger and aggression, and on the positive side, acute awareness of opportunity and danger, and survival mechanisms.
Physical Associations: Legs, feet, skeletal system (including teeth), joints, muscles, cellular structure, intestines, prostate, circulatory system, large intestine
Subsidiary Colors: Brown, black, and gray emanate from this chakra
2. The Emotional Layer: The Second Aura Layer
Corresponding Chakra: Sacral Chakra (Orange)
Energy Characteristics: This layer appears as orange or silvery light, especially when sexual matters or fertility are prominent in a person’s life. It deals with desires—for love, sex, approval, food, or other oral stimulation such as coffee or cigarettes—and is also connected to eating disorders. Our basic intuitions or “gut feelings” reside here.
Physical Associations: The water within the body, therefore connected to fluid retention, hydration, hormones, reproductive system, kidneys, fertility, and bladder. This layer is especially sensitive to stress.
3. The Mental Layer: The Third Aura Layer
Corresponding Chakra: Solar Plexus Chakra (Golden Yellow)
Energy Characteristics: This layer reflects our personal power, confidence, determination, and unique self. In our modern, competitive, 24/7 world, this layer is often operating in overdrive.
Physical Associations: Digestion, liver, spleen, gallbladder, abdomen, stomach, pancreas, small intestine, metabolism, lower back, autonomic nervous system
4. The Astral Layer: The Fourth Aura Layer
Corresponding Chakra: Heart Chakra (Green)
Energy Characteristics: This layer governs the ability to give and receive love, as well as understand and empathize with others—without drowning in guilt or taking on too much responsibility. If a person is highly spiritually aware and altruistic, a thin outer band of turquoise appears within this layer.
Physical Associations: Heart, chest (including breasts), lungs, lymph nodes, blood pressure and circulation, upper back, skin. Also governs viruses and allergies.
Subsidiary Colors: Pink sometimes emanates from this layer
5. The Etheric Template Layer: The Fifth Aura Layer
Corresponding Chakra: Throat Chakra (Sky Blue)
Energy Characteristics: This layer relates to creativity, communication, and listening, as well as speech, formulation and expression of ideas, and development of ideals. It is involved in the autism spectrum and also governs dreams.
Physical Associations: Throat organs, speech functions, thyroid gland, neck and shoulders, passages leading to the ears, mouth, and jaw
6. The Celestial Body: The Sixth Aura Layer
Corresponding Chakra: Brow Chakra (Indigo)
Energy Characteristics: This layer deals with imagination, inspiration, nightmares, fears, and phobias. At this level, spiritual well-being directly affects physical well-being.
Physical Associations: Eyes, sinuses, ears, headaches (including migraines), pituitary gland, cerebellum, forebrain. Its influence radiates into the central cavity of the brain.
7. The Ketheric Template or Causal Body: The Seventh Aura Layer
Corresponding Chakra: Crown Chakra (Violet, merging with pure white and gold)
Energy Characteristics: This is the outermost layer of the aura, representing the complete integration of physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual selves. It is the level where you connect with the cosmos and universal consciousness.
Physical Associations: Skull, autonomic nervous system, all neurological functions, upper brain, cerebral cortex, brain overall, central nervous system, hair growth, pineal gland. It integrates the functioning of body, mind, and spirit.

Assessing the Seven Layers Using the Power of Touch
This method allows you to sense the seven separate bands using psychometry (psychic touch) to assess the overall state of your aura, as well as any relevant factors within individual layers. You can also try this with friends or family members while they sit comfortably in a chair.
Trust what your fingers transmit through touch, but also trust what you perceive through clairvoyant vision, words that arise in your mind, or even impressions. Eventually, you will begin to feel—or even see—the colors.
Note where in the aura you sense any problems. Can you feel knots or tangles? These may be caused by ongoing stress that cannot be openly expressed—for example, in the blue etheric template layer.
Method:
- Begin in the air directly above the head, about one arm’s length away from the hair
- Hold your hands with palms facing the body
- Move down very slowly, sensing each layer of the aura
- Record the feeling of each layer: Is it smooth, flowing, resistant, knotted, hollow?
- If the entire aura is pale, you might draw dotted lines in each band
- Increased activity could be represented as a series of overlapping spirals
You will find that you automatically know the correct colors and shades. Also note: Is any color missing? Is one side overshadowed by a particular aura color?
Cleansing and Energizing the Aura with a Clear Quartz Pendulum
Once a week, or after a few exhausting or challenging days, use a clear quartz pendulum. Clear quartz is a conductor of white light energy, which is the synthesis of all colors. As it moves through the aura, it spontaneously releases any color in whatever intensity is needed.
When working on yourself, focus on the aura area around your own head and shoulders—the beneficial effects will spread throughout the body. When working with others, some prefer to move the pendulum over the entire aura, from feet to head, front and back, as the aura surrounds the whole body in an ellipse.
Cleansing Method
- Check your aura diagram
- Hold the pendulum so it swings freely, with the chain in your dominant hand
- Move the pendulum very slowly in counter-clockwise spirals in and out of your aura around your head and shoulders, from the outer edges inward until it almost touches the hairline, then slowly back out again—as if weaving a net of light
- You may feel irregularities in certain places, like a row of protruding needles. At this point, the pendulum will spin rapidly in a counter-clockwise spiral. You might feel slightly nauseous or experience teeth sensitivity
- The irregularity may penetrate several layers, reflecting a stressful situation
- Trust the pendulum’s movement—it will tell you where and how intensely to move the pendulum, still counter-clockwise, to untangle a knot, or to smooth out particularly rough patches of color
- If the pendulum suddenly wants to turn clockwise, let it do so. This happens because the area needs instant light and energy to overcome some aura resistance. At that moment, you may enter a light trance state
- The pendulum will move gently back and forth over a spot where there is a knot, as if a thread is being loosened. Tangles, or clusters of knots, are reflected in a gradually loosening back-and-forth motion, as if the pendulum is freeing itself
- If the aura is hyperactive in any of the bands, or perhaps two or three, the pendulum will vibrate quite fast and usually swing back and forth. You may feel momentarily irritable or excited. Continue moving the pendulum slowly in counter-clockwise circles until the sensation eases
- Once you feel a gentle hum of energy, as if a warm heater has been turned on, the pendulum will spontaneously slow down and stop
Energizing Method
- Dip the pendulum nine times in a glass of water
- Hold it over a candle or natural light source for a few seconds
- Pass the pendulum in clockwise circles over the entire aura area, again from outside in and out rhythmically, remembering where there were deviated colors or holes where energy had leaked
- Repair a hole by going over the area repeatedly with small, gentle, clockwise circles, as if coloring it in on paper
- You may find the pendulum returns to certain aura areas—it is tuning into trouble spots that need additional infusions of power
- When the aura is fully energized, the pendulum will slow down
- Finish with three clockwise circles at arm’s length above the head to seal the energies
- Dip the pendulum in water again nine times and let it air dry
Checking the Results
Now recheck the aura with the pendulum and create a new diagram, returning the pendulum to problem areas to cleanse and/or energize.
Trust Your Hands, Trust Your Intuition
The seven layers of the aura are like a holographic map of your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual being. Learning to read them gives you a map for self-healing; learning to cleanse and activate them gives you the tools for energy repair.
Whenever you feel tired, stressed, or emotionally low, take a moment to sense your aura with your hands, cleanse its dust with a crystal pendulum. You will find that physical fatigue, emotional fluctuations, and mental confusion gradually settle into peace as you work with your energy field.
You are not just one body—you are a being of light, composed of seven layers of energy.
