In the practice of natural magic, it is easy to fall into a trap: putting all your attention on tools and techniques—which herbs to buy, which stones to use, which rituals to perform. These things matter, of course, but they are only means. The real question is: Why are you doing this? What do you want to achieve?
The green witch tradition sums up this “why” into seven core energies. They are not commandments or doctrines you must believe in. They are a map—when some part of your life feels out of balance, you can look back and see which energy needs to be adjusted. These seven energies are: harmony, health, love, happiness, peace, abundance, and protection.
This article explains each of the seven energies in turn, and how to notice and adjust them in daily life.

Harmony: The Foundation of All Energies
Harmony is the most central of the seven. It is like a thread that connects the other six. When harmony is present, the other energies flow naturally. When harmony is missing, the others get stuck too.
Harmony has three levels. The first level is harmony with yourself. This means accepting all of who you are—including the parts you do not like. We all have traits we would rather deny: anger, laziness, jealousy, fear. But pushing these parts away means denying part of your own energy. True harmony is not about destroying the shadow. It is about letting the shadow and the light coexist, each finding its place within the same system.
The second level is harmony with others. This is not about pleasing everyone or avoiding conflict. It is about understanding that energy between people flows both ways. Your mood affects those around you, and their moods affect you. Maintaining harmony means staying aware of this mutual influence and choosing how to respond with awareness.
The third level is harmony with nature. This is the level the green witch focuses on most directly. It does not require you to move into the mountains. It requires you to realize that you are not a spectator of nature but a part of it. The air you breathe, the water you drink, the food you eat—all come from nature. When you understand this, the way you treat nature changes.
How to notice harmony: Ask yourself—does the rhythm of my life match the rhythm of my body, my emotions, and my environment? Is there any part that feels “stuck” or “overworked”?

Health: More Than the Body
Health is usually understood as “not being sick.” But from the green witch’s perspective, health is a state of balance across four levels: body, emotion, mind, and spirit. When any one level is off, it affects the others.
Physical health is the most obvious. Sleep, diet, movement, breathing—these basic things determine the body’s energy level. But physical health is also affected by emotion: long-term anxiety can cause digestive problems, and suppressed anger can affect the cardiovascular system.
Emotional health means being able to feel and express a range of emotions, rather than suppressing or losing control. Mental health means staying clear and focused, not drowning in noise. Spiritual health means having a sense of connection to something larger—whether through nature, art, meditation, or faith.
How to notice health: Ask yourself—have I been sleeping well? Is there ongoing tension or discomfort in my body? Are my emotions flowing or stuck? Do I feel disconnected from something larger?
Love: Starting with Yourself
Many people hear the word “love” and think first of romantic relationships. But among the seven energies, love is much broader. It starts with love for yourself. This is not narcissism. It is respect for yourself as a whole being. If a person cannot love themselves, the love they give others often comes with conditions, control, and fear.
Next is love for family and close friends. These people are the most direct support network in daily life. Maintaining these relationships means giving time, attention, and patience.
Third is love for humanity as a whole. This sounds abstract, but it can be put into concrete action: kindness to strangers, involvement in the community, attention to social issues. The green witch understands that humanity is one whole, and that pain in any part affects the whole.
How to notice love: Ask yourself—am I taking care of myself? Am I spending time with the people who matter? Do I hold basic kindness and respect for others?
Happiness: Not Constant Pleasure
Happiness is not a continuous state of pleasure. If what you seek is “always feeling good,” you are bound to fail. The green witch’s understanding of happiness is closer to a sense of satisfaction with life—the ability to feel small good things even in difficult times.
Happiness can come from many places: a good meal, a smooth conversation, a sunny afternoon, the feeling of finishing a small task. It does not need to be grand. It only needs to be real.
How to notice happiness: Ask yourself—was there a moment today when I felt relaxed or satisfied? Do I allow myself to enjoy these small moments?
Peace: Inner Quiet
Peace is different from happiness. Happiness is satisfaction. Peace is inner quiet. It means not being constantly occupied by anxiety, anger, or fear. Peace is not the absence of emotion. It is knowing how to be with an emotion when it comes, without being carried away by it.
Many green witch practices point toward peace: meditation, walks in nature, repetitive work (such as sweeping, watering, or sorting herbs), breathing exercises. What these practices share is that they move attention from “thinking” to “feeling,” allowing the noise of the mind to slowly quiet down.
How to notice peace: Ask yourself—how much noise is in my head? Can I sit for five minutes doing nothing without feeling restless?

Abundance: More Than Money
Abundance is often equated with wealth, but among the seven energies, its meaning is broader. It includes money and material resources, but also time, energy, opportunity, relationships, and creativity. A person with money but no time is not in a state of abundance. A person with little money but plenty of time and creativity may be more abundant than the first.
Abundance is also connected to gratitude. When you focus on what you do not have, you feel lack. When you focus on what you already have, you feel abundance. This is not self-deception. It is a shift in perspective.
How to notice abundance: Ask yourself—do I feel that my resources (time, money, energy) are enough? Do I often feel lack? Can I see what I already have?
Protection: Boundaries and Safety
Protection means guarding what matters—body, emotions, space, relationships, values. In green witch practice, protection is not about building high walls. It is about setting clear boundaries. Knowing what can come in and what cannot. Knowing when to say yes and when to say no.
Protection also means creating a safe space for yourself. This can be physical (a quiet corner, a door that locks), or energetic (a period of time when you are not disturbed, the ability not to be pulled into other people’s emotions).
How to notice protection: Ask yourself—do I feel safe? Are my boundaries clear? Am I letting too much into my space or my life?

How to Use These Seven Energies in Daily Life
You do not need to work on all seven at once. A more practical approach is: focus on one at a time. When life feels out of balance, first ask yourself: where is the strongest sense of discomfort coming from? Which energy needs adjusting most right now?
For example, if you have been feeling tired and irritable lately, it may be “health” or “peace” that needs attention. If you feel distant from the people around you, it may be “love” or “harmony.” If you constantly worry about not having enough money, it may be “abundance” that needs re-examining.
The adjustment does not need to be complicated. It can be one early night, one认真—one carefully eaten meal, one long conversation with a friend, ten minutes of meditation, one round of cleaning the room, one refusal of an unnecessary request. These small actions, accumulated over time, are the rebalancing of energy.
The point of the seven core energies is not to treat them as seven separate goals to chase. It is to provide a framework for checking in. When life has a problem, you know where to start looking. When you feel lost, you know which direction to adjust toward.
Harmony is the foundation. Health is the vehicle. Love is the connection. Happiness is the feeling. Peace is the state. Abundance is the resource. Protection is the boundary. They depend on one another, and none can be missing. But they do not need to be perfect—you do not need to score full marks on all of them at once. You only need to know which one needs you most right now, and take one step in that direction.
