Having explored the seven layers of the aura, the energetic functions of the chakras, the formation process of illness, and various healing techniques, we finally arrive at the journey’s end, which is also its true beginning—self-healing. Ultimately, all external healing is merely auxiliary; the real healing power has always resided within each individual.

The Essence of Health: Returning to Your True Self

What is health? Is it the absence of pain or discomfort? Is it normal indicators on a medical report? From an energy healing perspective, the definition of health runs far deeper.

Health is the state of being deeply connected to yourself and your purpose in this lifetime. This means loving yourself, respecting yourself, listening to and following your inner guidance, and making adjustments at the first sign of imbalance. Health is not a static state, but a dynamic process of balance—a natural result of returning to your true self and living authentically.

When we lose connection with our authentic selves, we form thoughts and behaviors that lead to unhealthy lifestyles. These thoughts and behaviors may initially manifest as subtle energetic disturbances, but over time, they accumulate and eventually manifest in the physical body as illness or disease. Therefore, illness is essentially a signal. It reminds us: “You have lost your balance because you have forgotten who you are.”

From this perspective, illness is not an enemy but a messenger. It tells us the degree of our imbalance and how to rediscover our true selves and health. As long as we know how to communicate with illness, the message it brings is remarkably precise.

Self-Care: Eleven Dimensions of Wellbeing

Caring for yourself means maintaining awareness and balance in all areas of life. Here are eleven dimensions of self-care ideal:

Meditation: Daily meditation practice is a bridge to connect with your inner guidance. Whether through breath awareness, visualization, or mantra repetition, meditation allows us to temporarily detach from the constraints of linear thinking and enter a broader space of awareness. The author particularly recommends the “Future-Past Meditation”—inhaling the infinite possibilities of the future, exhaling the limited definitions of the past, and resting in the pause of the breath in the eternal now.

Exercise: The body is the vehicle for energy. Regular physical activity can clear meridians, activate chakras, and release blockages. Whether it’s the joint exercises or chakra-opening practices, yoga, tai chi, swimming, or jogging, choose your favorite form of movement and allow energy to flow freely through your body.

Quality Food: Food is not just a source of nutrients; it is also a carrier of energy. A plant-based diet is recommended—plenty of grains, vegetables, and salads; moderate amounts of fruit; and small amounts of meat (preferably organic). Adjust your diet according to the seasons—eat more root vegetables in winter and more fresh fruits and vegetables in summer. Most importantly, eat mindfully, savor your food, and give thanks for the Earth’s gifts.

Good Hygiene Habits: Use pH-balanced cleaning products to protect the skin’s natural acid mantle. Floss daily and brush your teeth regularly. Choose natural, hypoallergenic, and non-toxic personal care items.

Rest: Honor your body’s need for rest. Everyone’s sleep requirements differ; some need a full eight hours, while others prefer segmented sleep. When your body sends signals of fatigue, regardless of the time, allow yourself to rest.

Clothing: Choose clothing made from natural fibers—cotton, silk, wool—as they support and strengthen the aura. Synthetic fibers like nylon and polyester may interfere with the natural flow of energy. Choose clothing colors based on your daily energy needs, allowing your attire to become a way to supplement your energy.

Home: Your living space is an extension of your energy field. Ensure your home has enough space and light, fresh air, and perhaps some plants. Remove or turn off fluorescent lights, opting for incandescent lighting instead. Let the colors in your home align with your energetic needs.

Recreation: Recreation is as important as work. Give yourself time to do things you’ve always wanted to try. Allow yourself to have fun. Discover your inner child and enjoy each moment.

Personal Challenges: For those things you’ve always wanted to do but kept telling yourself, “Maybe next year,” now is the time to start. Your deepest desires often point toward your true purpose in this life. Even if it takes a long time, as long as you keep moving forward step by step, you will eventually arrive.

Intimate Relationships and Friendships: Everyone has a need for intimacy and friendship. If there’s someone you’ve always liked but were too shy to approach, take a chance. Tell them you like them and would like to be friends. You might be surprised at how effective this approach can be.

Caring for Yourself in Accidents and Illness: Before you truly need them, identify trusted professional care providers in advance. Healers, homeopaths, acupuncturists, chiropractors, and massage therapists can all become part of your support network.

Meditation Practices for Self-Healing

In addition to daily self-care, the author offers two powerful meditation tools for self-healing.

Self-Healing Meditation: Scan your body using any method you prefer and find the area that needs the most attention. Place your hand on that area and allow your higher consciousness to merge with it. Try to give this area a shape, a color, a texture, a density. Is it sharp? Does it cause pain? Is it intermittent? Does this condition feel familiar to you? How do you feel when you face it?

Once you sense the essence of this area, approach it with love. What kind of love feels most appropriate here? You can practice this with any uncomfortable area of your body or any situation in your life. Illness is a message telling you that you are not loving your true essence and not taking good care of yourself. Allowing yourself to live authentically is the foundation of all healing.

Meditation for Dissolving Self-Limitations: Raise your consciousness to an expanded state. Ask yourself: Who am I? When you receive an answer, identify the limitations you have placed on yourself through that simplified self-definition. Once you see the limitation, acknowledge that you created it, then release it, allowing your personal boundaries to expand.

Ask yourself again: Who am I? Whatever the answer, this time you will receive another definition of yourself. Identify the essence of that definition, then release the limitation, expanding your boundaries once more. Repeat this process of questioning and releasing limitations.

Practice this meditation regularly each week. Those limiting beliefs have tangible forms within your aura; they are energies and consciousness that bind you. As you release them, your energy returns to free flow.

Becoming Your Own Healer

If you want to become a healer, you absolutely can. Your primary challenge is to heal yourself. Focus on this goal, and afterward, you can shift your focus to helping others heal themselves.

This is a path filled with trials requiring you to confront fear, face negative intentions, integrate your will, practice unconditional love, build faith, and accept grace. But with each step forward comes deeper understanding, greater love, and increased growth, ultimately leading us toward the divine light.

The healer’s work is to remind others of who they are. And the destination of this path is to become light yourself, illuminating the way home for others.

When you learn to flow without resistance, completely following the inherent creative rhythm within, you have returned home. You are in your source. There, you are both the light and the one who sees the light; both the healer and the one being healed; both the wanderer returning home and the presence that has always been there.
