1. Card VI: The Lovers
- Core Themes: Love and relationships, maturity, decision-making, choice.
- Symbols & Correspondences: Gemini (the Twins), Air element; Hebrew letter Zain (sword, meaning soulfulness). Key symbols include: Archangel Raphael (love and healing, spiritual wisdom), the Tree of Life (masculine principle, twelve fruits representing the zodiac signs), the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil (feminine principle, fruit symbolizing sexual experience), the snake (risk and wisdom).
- Upright Meaning: Indicates a major decision regarding relationships. May predict meeting a new partner or a career opportunity, and your choice now will significantly affect your future. The core message is to make mature decisions that support your long-term needs: respect, intimacy, love, and trust. May also represent a young person leaving home and becoming independent.
- Reversed Meaning: Relationships become unbalanced, and the shadow side of personalities emerges. May indicate crisis, inequality, betrayal, or dishonesty. Represents an aspect of Card XV, The Devil, revealing lust, materialism, and addiction to negative patterns.
- Wisdom Message: “Follow the wisdom of your heart.”
